Extra Credit   The purpose of extra credit is to enable students who have a borderline grade to earn a few extra points to bring their grade up to the next level.  For example, if a student has a grade of 84% C+, successful completion of several extra credit assignments should bring them up to an 85% B.  The purpose of extra credit is not to enable students to jump several grades.  Students should be in the habit of attempting the extra credit assignments on a regular basis.  This gives them extra practice with the concepts they are studying and prevents them from having to "cram" at the end of the trimester.
