February Newsletter

Dear Parents,

I was very happy to see many of you during Catholic School's Week.  I hope you enjoyed your visit to Saint Ursula and our classroom.  I enjoyed having you visit 2A.
February looks to be a very exciting month for second grade.  We will be going on our Field Trip on the 16th.  Students will be wearing their gym uniforms.  Students will be eating lunch during the field trip so please pack a drink for your child, they will not be provided with the milk or juice from school.
I would like to congratulate the students of 2A.  We won Spirit Day.  We also won the compliment contest.  Since we won the compliment contest, students will be able to wear their tennis shoes on February 14th.
We are finishing up the Mass and will soon begin preparing for First Holy Communion.  The books will be going home soon and you will need to cover them in contact paper.  Please do not write anything in the books just like the Reconciliation books.
Beginning this month on Thursday, we will launch Operation Math.  Operation Math will be done by all students at the same time.  Operation Math is to help the students improve their test scores in Math.  The second grade is expected to be able to do twenty addition and/or subtraction facts in a minute.  Please use the links on my website or flashcards to help your child know their facts without using their fingers.
