That the London Bridge in England really WAS falling down?  It was taken apart and sold to a man in the United States.  He rebuilt the London Bridge in Arizona.  London, England now has a new bridge.  Did you know that England is part of the United Kingdom?

That the young children in Germany receive tuttes on their first day of school each year?  These decorated paper cones are filled with small toys and candy to make their first day of school "sweeter."  Did you know that the people in Hamelin, Germany, enjoy telling the story of the Pied Piper?

That the custom in France upon entering a small shop is to say "Bonjour" (hello)?  Upon leaving, you should say "Au revoir" (goodbye).  If you don't say it first, the salesclerk will say it to you.  Did you know that the Eiffel Tower is in Paris, the capital of France?

That all the buildings in Malta must be made from the stone which is mined on the island?  Almost every home, store, and church look identical.  Did you know that every church in Malta is a Catholic church?

That no one is allowed to wear shorts in any church in Italy?  Also, women are required to cover their shoulders if they are wearing a sleeveless blouse or dress.  Did you know that many ancient ruins are in Rome, the capital of Italy?

That in order to kiss the Blarney Stone in Ireland, you have to hang backwards over the top of Blarney Castle?  Two men hold you while you kiss the big rock and have your picture taken!  Did you know that the landscape in Ireland is colored with very many shades of green?

That there used to be many pirates that sailed on the Mediterranean Sea?  People built their homes high atop hills so that the pirates didn't attack them.  Did you know that the word, Mediterranean, means "middle of the earth?"

That the beaches in Mexico are very white, and that the sand never gets hot?  Did you know that the beaches in Cancun and Cozumel, Mexico, are on the Caribbean Sea which is many shades of crystal blue?  Did you know that you can see Mayan ruins that are 5000 years old on the island of Cozumel, Mexico?

    That Alaska has only a few hours of sunlight in the winter and only a few hours of darkness in the summer?  Did you know that a large part of the state is covered with snow and glaciers the whole year? Did you know that Alaska's schools have big fences around them to keep out the bears?  Did you know that in Ketchikan, Alaska, the baseball diamonds have no grass because it is too rainy there to grow it?

 That the city of Las Vegas, Nevada was built on a sandy desert?   Did you know that Las Vegas has some of the biggest hotels in the world?

  That there's a town called Hell, and a huge green sea turtle farm  on the island of Grand Cayman?  Did you know that there are many sunken pirate ships around the rocky coasts of Grand Cayman?

That in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, you can climb to the top of a spectacular 600 ft. waterfall called Dunn's River Falls?  Did you know that people in Jamaica started the phrase, "No problem?"

  That San Francisco, California has the "Crookedest Street in the World?"  Lombard Street is paved with red brick and it makes 8 turns in one block!  Did you know that you can ride an original cable car up and down San Francisco's very steep streets?  Did you know that San Francisco is the home of the Golden Gate Bridge, and the former prison of Alcatraz?

  That Ft. Myers, Florida, in the winter, is one of the warmest places in the United States?  Did you know that many manatees gather near the Ft. Myers electric power plant to keep warm during the winter?

That the people in Bermuda collect the rainwater to drink and wash with?  Did you know that there are 300 shipwrecks around the islands of Bermuda?

  That New Hampshire is the state that votes first in the National Primary Elections?  Did you know that the motto of New Hampshire is "Live Free or Die"?

  That New York City, New York is called "The Big Apple"?  Did you know that the Empire State Building in New York City is the World's Tallest Skyscraper, and has been in over 90 movies?

  That Boston, Massachusetts was the site of the Tea Party where the colonists threw tea into the Boston Harbor in protest?  Did you know that you can take a Duck Tour of Boston for sightseeing on land and sea?

That St. Louis, Missouri is called the "Gateway to the West" because so many pioneers set out from St. Louis to settle the western half of our country?  Did you know that you can ride a "pod" to the very top of the famous Arch and see great views of St. Louis and the Mississippi River?

That Wildwood, New Jersey has a very long and extremely wide beach on the Atlantic Ocean?  Did you know that the famous Wildwood Boardwalk is 38 blocks long and boasts 5 amusement piers with more rides than Disneyland?

That lots of dinosaur bones were found in New Mexico?  Did you know that the elevation in most of New Mexico is over a mile high?  Did you know that you can take the world's longest aerial tramway to the top of Sandia Peak, in Albuquerque, New Mexico?  Did you know that at the top you are over 10,000 feet up and can see for 11,000 square miles?
